🍃 Organic farming
Socho tumhari nani ke haath ka khaana — bina Ajinomoto, bina shortcut, phir bhi swaad accha hota hai. Bas thoda time aur mehnat zyada lagta hai. Organic farming bhi exactly waisa hi hai — koi shortcut nahi, sirf asli mehnat.
Normal farming mein kisan jaldi result ke liye chemical spray aur fertilizer daal dete hain — fast toh hai, lekin mitti dheere-dheere kamzor hoti jaati hai. Bilkul waise hi jaise roz junk food khaane se body kamzor hoti hai.
Organic farming mein koi chemical shortcut allowed nahi. Kisan gobar-khaad, crop rotation, aur ladybugs jaise chhote helpful keede use karte hain. Slow process hai, mehnat bhi zyada — lekin mitti saalon saal healthy rehti hai, aur khaana bhi zyada natural taste karta hai.
One-line mein: Organic = mitti ko izzat do, chemical shortcut na lo. Bas itna hi funda hai!
"Organic" ka asli matlab
Officially bolein toh: ek certification, kai saal ka transition period, aur ek inspector jo clipboard leke aata hai. Unofficially bolein toh: bas ek hi rule hai — nature ke saath kaam karo, uske against nahi.
Easy words mein: organic ek promise hai. Promise ki koi synthetic chemical, koi GMO seed, aur koi shortcut nahi liya gaya. Inspector aata hai, sab kuch achhe se check karta hai, tab jaake "organic" ka tag milta hai — yeh label free mein nahi milta, kamaana padta hai!
Transition period wali baat log mostly miss kar dete hain. Zyaadatar certifying bodies teen saal continuous organic-only farming maangte hain. Mitti ki bhi apni memory hoti hai, aur certifier proof chahte hain ki purana chemical asar poora khatam ho chuka hai.

Kaam kaise hota hai
Synthetic chemical hata do, toh kisan ka kaam kam nahi hota — bas alag ho jaata hai. Yeh raha woh sab jo gap fill karta hai.
Compost, chemistry nahi
Gobar aur crop waste mitti ke microbiome ko khilaate hain — is se fertility ek harvest se zyada tikti hai.
Crop rotation
Same crop, same jagah, har saal — pests ko khula invite hai. Rotation is cycle ko tod deta hai.
Companion planting
Marigold nematodes ko bhagata hai, legumes neighbours ko nitrogen dete hain — plant matchmaking.
Biological pest control
Pesticide ki jagah ladybugs, spray ki jagah netting. Slow hai, par bees ke liye accha.
Paani bachana
Mulch, drip lines, aur mitti jo waqai paani rok ke rakhti hai.
Pasture wale animals
Real khula pasture, koi hormone ya antibiotic nahi, aur unka gobar wapas mitti mein.
Vermicomposting
Earthworms crop waste ko todkar nutrient-rich khaad banate hain — mitti ki texture bhi sudhaarte hain.
Neem-based pest control
Neem oil aur neem khali dono kaam aate hain — insects ko bhagate hain bina nuksaan pahunchaaye.
Green manuring
Dhaincha ya sunhemp mitti mein mila di jaati hain — free nitrogen, bina bahar se khaad ke.
Mulching
Straw ya crop residue se mitti dhak do — weeds kam, paani kam evaporate, temperature stable.
Regular soil testing
Har season pehle pH aur nutrient level check karo — guesswork nahi karna padta.
Science, simple bhasha mein
Organic farming ek poora system hai — sirf "no chemicals" nahi. Har practice ek saath kaam karti hai.
Crop rotation
Har season alag crop lagane se pest cycles naturally toot jaate hain.
Vermicompost
Ek gram gobar khaad mein 300 crore se zyada beneficial microbes hote hain.
Khet mein ped
Ped chhaya, natural mulch, aur pest control dete hain.
Paani ki bachat
Organic mulching aur smart irrigation 10% tak kam paani use karte hain.
🌱 Ek qadam peeche nahi, sabse samajhdaar qadam aage
Organic farming koi peeche hatna nahi hai — traditional gyaan aur modern soil science dono saath milte hain.
Organic vs. normal farming
| Kya cheez | Organic | Conventional |
|---|---|---|
| Chemical pesticide | Allowed nahi | Aam use hota hai |
| Chemical fertilizer | Allowed nahi | Aam use hota hai |
| GMO seed | Allowed nahi | Often use hota hai |
| Livestock mein rojana antibiotic | Allowed nahi | Bade farms mein common |
| Soil-building practices | Core requirement | Optional, depend karta hai |
| Typical yield | Shuru mein kam ho sakta hai | Shuru mein zyada |
| Long-term soil health | Generally behtar hoti jaati hai | Time ke saath kharab ho sakti hai |
Certification, samjho asaan bhasha mein
"Organic" koi ek global standard nahi hai — yeh alag-alag certifying bodies ka mix hai.
USDA Organic
US ka standard. Teen saal transition period aur har saal inspection zaroori.
EU Organic
Europe ka leaf logo — animal welfare aur allowed inputs pe apne rules.
Participatory guarantee systems
Community-based certification jisme kisan ek dusre ko review karte hain.
"Certified naturally grown"
Chhote farms ke liye ek grassroots option.
🔬 Sirf label pe bharosa mat karo, proof dekho

Certification ek cheez hai, par asli transparency tab hoti hai jab farm apne lab test results khud publicly share kare. Kisan Kaka apne lab reports seedhe website pe daalte hain, taaki koi bhi khud verify kar sake.
Kisan Kaka Certifications & Lab Tests Dekho → Certified Organic Wheat Shop Karo →🌾 wheat ke saath kaam karne ke kuch zaroori usool

Kaunsa mausam, kaunsi fasal
🍂 Autumn
❄️ Winter
Crop rotation follow karo aur sirf organic khaad use karo — koi chemical fertilizer nahi.
🌸 Spring
Harvest ke baad crop waste jalane ki jagah use compost banao.
☀️ Summer
Field ko khaali mat chodo — cover crop lagao.
Yeh sab zaroori kyun hai
Philosophy chhodo ek second ke liye — yeh raha jo actually ground pe badalta hai jab farm organic ban jaata hai.
🌍 Zameen ke liye
Behtar paani retention, kam erosion, mitti mein zyada carbon, aur zyada insects-microbes.
🥕 Khaane ke liye
Kam chemical residue, aur ek taste difference jo speed ke liye grown kisi bhi cheez mein milna mushkil hai.
🧑🌾 Kisan ke liye
Ek system jo bees saal baad bhi productive rahe, sirf is quarter ke liye nahi.
Ghar par organic try karna hai?
Poora ek farm nahi chahiye — yeh ideas balcony ya chhote backyard garden ke liye bhi kaam karte hain.
Chhota compost bin banao
Kitchen scraps aur yard waste kuch mahino mein free fertilizer ban jaate hain.
Good bugs ko bulao
Marigold aur dill jaise flowers laga do — ladybugs khud khinche chale aayenge.
Jo lagao, rotate karo
Chhote bed mein bhi, same crop lagatar do saal mat lagao.
Sab jagah mulch daalo
Farm words, explained simply
Kuch words baar baar aayenge is blog mein — yahan unka matlab bilkul simple bhasha mein.
Compost 🪱
Kitchen scraps jo decompose hoke mitti ke liye free khaad ban jaata hai.
Crop rotation 🔄
Har season alag crop lagana, taaki mitti aur pests ko surprise mile.
GMO 🧬
Genetically modified seed — organic farming mein allowed nahi hai.
Pesticide 🐛
Keedon ko bhagane wali cheez. Organic mein sirf natural, approved wale allowed hain.
Mulch 🍂
Certification 📜
Official proof ki farm sach mein organic rules follow kar raha hai.
Beginner ki galtiyan
Naya-naya organic try kar rahe ho? Yeh galtiyan sabse zyada hoti hain — inse bach jao.
Overwatering
Zyada paani daal dena — roots sad jaate hain.
No patience for soil
Ek season mein hi perfect result expect karna.
Ignoring pests too long
Sochte hain "thoda hi toh hai," phir poora bed saaf ho jaata hai.
Planting too close together
Hawa aur light nahi milti, disease jaldi failta hai.
Myth vs. fact
Myth
Organic matlab zero pesticide.
Fact
Kuch natural pesticides allowed hain — tightly restricted.
Myth
Organic hamesha zyada nutritious hota hai.
Fact
Clear jeet sirf kam pesticide residue mein hai.
Myth
Organic farming scale nahi ho sakti.
Fact
Acche se manage kiya organic system gap kaafi kam kar deta hai.
Myth
Sab organic farms same lagte hain.
Fact
Do-acre garden aur 2,000-acre farm alag tareeke se solve karte hain.
"Tum sirf ek fasal nahi ugaa rahe — tum poora ek system zinda rakh rahe ho."
Aapke sawaal, hamare jawaab
Organic itna mehnga kyun hai, worth hai kya?
Tum labour aur kam yield ke liye pay kar rahe ho, marketing ke liye nahi.
"Organic" aur "natural" mein kya farak hai?
"Natural" regulated term nahi hai. "Organic" matlab inspector ne verify kiya hai.
Organic crop kabhi thoda kam perfect kyun dikhti hai?
Synthetic treatment nahi hota, isliye variation zyada hota hai — sirf looks ki baat hai.
Kya organic farming zyada zameen leti hai?
Often haan, per unit output ke hisaab se — genuine trade-off hai.
School ya group ke liye farm tour mil sakta hai?
Humein yeh bahut pasand hai. Call kar ke group size aur ages batao.

The Story
🌾 KisanKaka's Farm-to-Table Journey
Rahul and Kiran Parmar, both children of farmers from Sehore, moved to Bangalore and couldn't find honest food — not even the famous Sharbati wheat their own hometown is known for.
So they went back to the farm, milled wheat fresh on a home chakki, and shared it with friends. The response was unanimous: "This is real food."
That is how KisanKaka — Sehore Wale — was born.
Step 1 — The Right Seed
Sharbati (Sujata) wheat — grown in Sehore for generations. Natural, non-GMO.
Step 2 — Natural Growing
Fed with vermicompost and cow dung. No synthetic fertilisers touch the soil.
Step 3 — Careful Harvest
Grains are harvested at the right time with no artificial drying agents.
Step 4 — Direct Sourcing
No middlemen. No long supply chains. Fresh from farm to your door.
Step 5 — Your Kitchen Table
Milled fresh on a traditional chakki and packed with care.

🍃 Organic farming
Think of food made by your grandmother's hands — no shortcuts, no additives, and yet it tastes wonderful. It just takes a little more time and effort. Organic farming works exactly the same way — no shortcuts, just real work.
In conventional farming, farmers reach for chemical sprays and fertilisers for quick results — it's fast, but the soil quietly grows weaker over time. Much like how eating junk food every day slowly weakens the body.
In organic farming, no chemical shortcut is allowed. Farmers rely on cow-dung compost, crop rotation, and small helpers like ladybugs. It's a slower process and takes more effort — but the soil stays healthy year after year, and the food tastes more natural too.
In one line: Organic means respecting the soil, not taking chemical shortcuts. That's the whole idea!
What "organic" really means
Officially: a certification, several years of transition, and an inspector with a clipboard. Unofficially: there's just one rule — work with nature, not against it. Whether it's the soil, pests, seeds, or animals, no shortcuts are allowed anywhere.
In plain words: organic is a promise. A promise that no synthetic chemical, no GMO seed, and no shortcut was used. An inspector comes, checks everything carefully, and only then does the "organic" tag get awarded — this label isn't free, it has to be earned!
People often miss the transition-period part. A farm can't stop using chemicals on Monday and call itself "organic" on Tuesday — most certifying bodies require three continuous years of organic-only farming. Soil has a memory of its own, and certifiers want proof that the old chemical residue is completely gone.

How it actually works
Take away synthetic chemicals, and a farmer's work doesn't shrink — it just changes shape. Here's everything that fills the gap.
Compost, not chemistry
Cow dung and crop waste feed the soil's microbiome, not just the plant — so fertility lasts beyond a single harvest.
Crop rotation
Growing the same crop in the same spot every year is an open invitation to pests. Rotation breaks that cycle completely.
Companion planting
Marigolds repel nematodes, legumes feed nitrogen to their neighbours — basically plant matchmaking.
Biological pest control
Ladybugs instead of pesticide, netting instead of spray. Slower, a bit messier — but much kinder to the bees.
Saving water
Mulch, drip lines, and soil that actually holds on to water instead of letting it run off.
Pasture-raised animals
Real open pasture, no routine hormones or antibiotics, and their manure goes right back into the soil.
Vermicomposting
Earthworms break down crop waste into nutrient-rich compost — more powerful than regular compost, and it improves soil texture too.
Neem-based pest control
Both neem oil and neem cake work well — they repel insects without harming soil microbes or beneficial insects.
Green manuring
Legume crops like dhaincha or sunhemp are sown and turned into the soil before they flower — free nitrogen, no outside fertiliser.
Mulching
Cover the soil with straw or crop residue — fewer weeds, less water evaporates, and soil temperature stays stable.
Regular soil testing
Check the soil's pH and nutrients before every season — it tells you exactly what's needed, no guesswork required.
The science, simply explained
Organic farming is a complete system — not just "no chemicals." Every practice works together to keep the soil alive, the crop healthy, and your food pure.
Crop rotation
Planting a different crop each season naturally breaks pest cycles and replenishes the soil's nutrients.
Vermicompost
One gram of cow-dung compost holds over 3 billion beneficial microbes that naturally nourish and heal the soil.
Trees on the farm
Trees provide shade, natural mulch, and pest control. They shield the land from wind and even improve the local climate.
Saving water
Organic mulching and smart irrigation use up to 10% less water than conventional chemical farming.
🌱 Not a step backward — the smartest step forward
Organic farming isn't going backward — it's the smartest way forward, combining traditional wisdom with a modern understanding of soil science.
Organic vs. conventional farming
| What | Organic | Conventional |
|---|---|---|
| Chemical pesticides | Not allowed | Commonly used |
| Chemical fertilisers | Not allowed | Commonly used |
| GMO seeds | Not allowed | Often used |
| Routine antibiotics in livestock | Not allowed | Common on large farms |
| Soil-building practices | Core requirement | Optional, depends |
| Typical yield | Can be lower at first | Higher at first |
| Long-term soil health | Generally improves over time | Can decline over time |
Understanding certification, in simple terms
"Organic" isn't one single global standard — it's a mix of different certifying bodies, each with its own checklist. The logo on the label tells you which rulebook is being followed.
USDA Organic
The US standard. Requires a three-year transition period and annual inspections, with strict limits on permitted substances.
EU Organic
Europe's leaf logo — its own rules on animal welfare and permitted inputs, in much the same spirit as USDA.
Participatory guarantee systems
Community-based certification where farmers review each other — a more affordable option for small farms.
"Certified Naturally Grown"
A grassroots option for small farms that follow organic practices but skip the cost of formal government certification.
🔬 Don't just trust the label — look at the proof

Certification is one thing, but real transparency happens when a farm shares its own lab test results publicly — proof of zero chemical residue, not just a logo. KisanKaka publishes certified lab reports for its organic wheat and other products right on the website, so anyone can verify for themselves.

Start with seed treatment — treating seeds with cow urine or a neem-based solution before sowing significantly lowers the risk of fungal disease. A small step, but it makes a big difference.
Water timing matters most — don't miss the first irrigation at the crown-root-initiation stage (20–25 days after sowing), since this is what determines the wheat's yield. The other stages are a bit more flexible.
Control weeds early — the first 30–35 days are the most critical for wheat. After that, the crop can out-compete weeds on its own, so put your energy into early weeding.

Which season, which crop
🍂 Autumn
Add cow-dung compost to the field before sowing and treat seeds with neem or cow urine — a good start keeps disease low.
❄️ Winter
Follow crop rotation and use only organic manure — no chemical fertiliser. Remove weeds by hand or hoe, not spray.
🌸 Spring
Instead of burning crop waste after harvest, turn it into compost — it becomes next year's natural manure.
☀️ Summer
Don't leave the field empty — plant a cover crop to keep the soil healthy and ready for next season.
Why this all matters
Set the philosophy aside for a second — here's what actually changes on the ground when a farm goes organic and stays that way for years.
🌍 For the land
Better water retention, less erosion, more carbon in the soil, and more insects and microbes — streets ahead of fields sprayed with chemicals every season.
🥕 For the food
Less chemical residue, and — ask anyone at the dinner table — a difference in taste that's hard to find in anything grown for speed.
🧑🌾 For the farmer
A system that's still productive twenty years from now, not just this quarter. Slow to build, but it doesn't wear out the way conventional systems do.
Want to try organic at home?
You don't need a whole farm — these ideas work on a balcony or in a small backyard garden too.
Start a small compost bin
Kitchen scraps and yard waste turn into free, chemical-free fertiliser in a few months.
Invite the good bugs
Plant flowers like marigold and dill — ladybugs and pollinators will show up on their own.
Rotate whatever you grow
Even in a small bed, don't plant the same crop two years running.
Mulch everywhere
A layer of straw or dry leaves cuts down watering needs and keeps weeds away too.
Farming words, explained simply
A few words will come up again and again in this blog — here's what they mean, in the simplest terms.
Compost 🪱
Kitchen scraps and plant waste that decompose into free, natural fertiliser for the soil.
Crop rotation 🔄
Planting a different crop in the same spot each season, so soil and pests never get too comfortable.
GMO 🧬
Genetically modified seed — seeds with genes altered in a lab. Not allowed in organic farming.
Pesticide 🐛
Something used to keep insects away. Only natural, approved ones are allowed in organic.
Mulch 🍂
A layer of straw or dry leaves over the soil — saves water and keeps weeds down.
Certification 📜
Official proof, after an inspector's check, that a farm genuinely follows organic rules.
Beginner mistakes (learn from others, don't repeat them)
New to organic? These are the most common mistakes — we've made them too, so you don't have to.
Overwatering
Too much love, too much water — roots start to rot. Water only when the soil feels dry.
No patience for the soil
Expecting perfect results in one season. Soil takes time to become healthy — at least a year or two.
Ignoring pests too long
Thinking "it's just a few," and then the whole bed is gone. Early checks matter.
Planting too close together
Cramming too many plants into one spot — air and light can't get through, disease spreads fast.
Myth vs. fact
Myth
Organic means zero pesticides.
Fact
Some natural pesticides are allowed — tightly restricted, and always non-synthetic.
Myth
Organic is always more nutritious.
Fact
The research on nutrients is mixed — the clear win is only in lower pesticide residue.
Myth
Organic farming can't scale.
Fact
Yield can be lower at first, but a well-managed organic system closes that gap over time.
Myth
All organic farms look the same.
Fact
A two-acre garden and a 2,000-acre grain farm solve the same problems very differently.
"You're not just growing a crop — you're keeping an entire system alive that will keep running long after this season is forgotten."
Your questions, answered
Why is organic so expensive — is it worth it?
You're paying for labour and lower yield, not marketing. If budget is tight, prioritise organic for the crops you use daily, like wheat.
What's the difference between "organic" and "natural" or "pesticide-free"?
"Natural" and "pesticide-free" aren't regulated terms — anyone can write them on a label. "Organic" means an inspector has actually verified the practices.
Why does organic produce sometimes look a little less "perfect"?
There's no synthetic treatment to make every grain uniform, so organic crops show more natural variation — it's purely cosmetic, not a quality issue.
Does organic farming need more land?
Often yes, per unit of output, since yield can be lower. A genuine trade-off against the soil and ecosystem benefits.
Can we get a farm tour for a school or group?
We'd love that. Call us with your group size and ages, and we'll work out a date.
